The brand-new 9.7 inch iPad Pro is said to have an Apple SIM embedded in it's LTE models. A couple of things come to mind along with a couple of questions:

1. Do you think that this is the future of what's in store for the next version of the iPhone?

2. If someone has unlimited data through Verizon on a phone plan would you be able to put this into an iPad like in the past through a physical SIM swap? Verizon didn't and still doesn't allow people to tether data off of their non-jailbroken iPhones.

3. How could non apple SIM carriers like Verizon be able to get this new iPad for service when it can't be offered?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

It says embedded Apple sim but just below that it also says it has support for the regular nano-SIM

It still has a nano-SIM slot. Because Apple SIM, embedded or not, is not available everywhere on every carrier. And Apple says the embedded Apple SIM feature may be disabled by carrier.

Embedded Apple SIM in iPad Pro (9.7-inch) may be disabled when purchased from some carriers. See your carrier for details. Apple SIM and embedded Apple SIM not available in China.

But I guess it's one or the other, not dual-SIM.
Yeah, but I'm just saying it would be awesome to use the embedded SIM with T-Mobile's free 200MB plan, and put my Verizon SIM with unlimited data in the iPad every now and then when I needed more data.
