iOS Embedding driving directions

I am working on an app that includes a pre-populated database of locations. I need to be able to display them on a map, which is easy with MapKit. However, the client wants the user to be able to click on a point and display driving directions. Due to other specifications, we want to stay in our own app - is that at all possible?

I don't think you're allowed to give directions by using MapKit, wasn't that one of the stipulations? If you give directions, you have to use your own map data?
