I'm JUST starting to try to make my own pages with iWeb. I have actually published a page, for the first time. I am trying to get swf files to run on the page but they only seem to work when I click on the file (which opens another page which they THEN run on. But I'd like them to on THE page that I put them on.)

I believe I'm using the latest version of iWeb. Anyone have any idea how to make them work or do I just not understand what's possible here? Thx.

I have this tutorial, but I think it is for an older version of iWeb as where it shows one publishing to a folder (from a "publish to a folder" menu) my version of iWeb doesn't offer that option.

I'm going through the exact same nightmare. I have no idea how to do this stuff and it seems to be so tedious it's hard to find help from those that do.

The best help I've found is at www.iwebunlimited.com , so much in fact that I actually donated to him. click on tips or tutorials and he addresses this exactly.

Still I don't understand why his methods (code) is different than others I've seen and I can't get a straight answer from anyone. Check out that website.

But i'm in the same boat so if you've figured it out or if you found another site that's helpful please PM me and let me know!

to publish to a folder in Iweb 09 go to the top link in your site (what ever you have named it). When you do, the option there shows three ways to publish: mobile me, FTP and Folder.

I am not familiar with SWF and Iweb. sorry

Edited:
I just checked out the link you posted. It seems straight forward. You need to have the file already upload to a host/server and then put in the HTML SNIPPET with the code he posted... making your changes in the red part (URL/HEIGHT/SIZE) ....

When I have done similar HTML snippets, as soon as I load the code and click back onto the page, it works.

I think momofthree has the wrong idea. it is not the publishing of the site your looking at, but the file you wish to embed on the page. I have been struggling with this for a while, and found a tutorial on how to do it with mobile me using an HTML snippet. Here is the link to that formum...

But I am not using Mobile me, and so cannot use that method, so the question still remains... is it possible without Mobile Me, or is this another case of apple wanting you to spend far much more money then you wanted to spend if you want the complete functions of a program...???? Help, PLEASE!!!???
