Keep the MBP. Return the wife.

:)

My thread was started to generate some light banter - and raise a few smiles which I am sure it has done. I thought a post titled "Can you tell a refub from new" far less interesting.

I probably will explain what a refurb is - but spin it. My exploration of telling (white) lies is more motivated by my experience of the way my wife's mind works. Logical arguments usually get me no where. She has fessed up to planning the best time to ask me, and the right way to ask, when she wants me to drop cash. I am just playing the game in reverse.

And it will be me taking it back to the store if there is anything wrong - rest assured.

My wife's mind works the same way. Need to know basis my friend... need to know basis... and anyone that has a wife like that knows you're not getting a divorce when she finds out.

Many people are better off not knowing about little stupid details that they would spend endless time stressing about (it's called mild OCD).

I say buy the refurb and just tell her you got a great deal! It's the truth anyway!

*edit* I see that you bought the refurb, and are still married. Well done.

Now THAT is a money losing proposition.

I would def go the refurb route. If i could of bought my retina refurbished I would have. Its like a new product and goes through apples inspections and gets new parts.

I know this thread is old, but I felt like I need to post this.

What if she sees in big letters "Macbook pro refurb 2011" on the box?
