It should though as they are saying it’s coming to us in UK next month.
The issue is that they release a statement saying it’s available in the US. and it’s clearly not available to everyone in the US.

Could have been an agreement with the satellite company to avoid congestion.

Emergency SOS via satellite availability

To use Emergency SOS via satellite (or share your location via satellite):
  • You need iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 16.1 or later.
  • You also need to be in a place with no cellular and Wi-Fi coverage.
  • Emergency SOS via satellite is available only in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada.
  • International travelers who visit the U.S. and Canada can use Emergency SOS via satellite, except if they bought their phone in China mainland, Hong Kong, or Macao. Emergency SOS via satellite isn't offered on iPhone models purchased in China mainland, Hong Kong, or Macao.
  • Emergency SOS via satellite isn't available in Guam or American Samoa.
  • Satellite connection might not work in places above 62° latitude, such as northern parts of Canada and Alaska.

Mine shows up and I have cellular coverage. I just think it has not been pushed to everyone yet.

Sure would be nice to get some attention on this instead of 5000 news outlets parroting the lie “available now in the US”

It’s not available in the US, if it’s not available to everyone.

Relax.

In one review it says Apple is slowly rolling out service because it wants to ensure 911 service is not compromised either in demand or Apple’s workflow to handle requests. I’m in Canada so even longer wait. UK guys come over to New York (?) to do their reviews on UK phones because of expected delays.

Still not showing up in my emergency SOS settings.
You may have to turn it on in location services first.

I'm in Canada and I don't even have the "Satellite Connection" option. So it means not only some of us don't see the demo in settings, but also the actual feature is not available

Exactly.

Apple should not say a feature is available when it clearly is not.

Toronto, Canada now has Satellite SOS connectivity!

I’m on Rogers and came on just after 6:30PM.

Still no satellite SOS.

I can’t be the only person this doesn’t exist for yet.

Bruh same for me 🆘
You should have it soon if you don’t already. Apparently you all have everything as it was sent in an update prior, so if you are on the latest update you have it all, you just need Apple to connect you to the server for activation.

I know it feels like you are late to the party as I only got mine last night. You’ll see, using it for the first time (in demo mode) is fun and cool. Then you show it to others, then you test it inside your home and in the car (works in a car). Then you move onto something else. That takes 12 hours - 🤣

If they offer texting over and above to anyone you want then I would pay a subscription.

Ya know… Apple may already be thinking of that for two years from now.

I had the Iridium Go app on another device and would have taken the plunge (for the outside device you can wifi from inside a shelter) but the cost! Globalstar is cheaper but less coverage. Texts would have to be encrypted as per usual. Sat to sat between two individuals would be worth the money! Good luck with China and India… But if in India then I’m all in with the big bucks as sat phones were still verboten last time I checked. For once Apple may be influential enough to change this. I can’t even keep a land line in India. Lost my coveted line in Tokyo recently too. 😑

Sat phones: GO GO GO!!!!!
