Emoji are perfect when your significant other is having a crappy day at work. Saying "So sorry" seems sarcastic in text form. Heck, MOST things seem sarcastic in text form.

But not the little forlorn face with a bunch of flowers next to him. It cheers my wife up, and I appreciate it when she cheers me up with the little penguin chasing a fish.

Go little penguin! You can do it!

I would not have guessed that before this thread, but yes, you're right!

I wonder if the OP is single...it's quote possible that outside of this nauseating love-speak, Emoji has no use in the real world.

I use it with my friends. Especially one guy who likes to communicate in emoji and memes. Such as when I mentioned I wanted to kill a co-worker (whom he also knew) he offered the suggestion of the fork and knife via emoji.

The mrs loves to receives the purple hearts, or the smile-with-heart-eyes guy. it always manages to brighten her mood. Very useful way of communicating.

I always use emoji! Just becuase it's there and it looks cool, not needed, but a nice addition
