Emoticons in iChat

Hi all! I am having some trouble with ichat. Recently I downloaded a little plugin with more emotions for ichat. It contained a few inappropriate icons. What I did was go into the iChat show package contents and delete the ones I did not like. Now, if I try to open the drop down menu in iChat, nothing comes out. I can still put in the abbreviation like [😉] and edit>insert smiley. I wouldn't mind doing a clean install of ichat without having to reinstall os x.

Miraculously, I got iChat back to normal!! I won't go into the details but I am also wondering how to use a custom emoticon without messing with all the code in iChat. Yahoo has some pretty cool moving fighting guy emoticons 😀.
