Does anyone know a way to create a disk image or other way to quickly set up a new computer for our employees? They all need to have the same applications, settings, dock items, permissions, desktop background, screen saver, etc. It’s a pain to set them up one-by-one. Any help would be appreciated.

There are lots of ways to do that, but imaging is not really a viable option anymore.

I agree with appltech, MDM is the most convenient method. You will have full control of your employees' Macs.

Macs with T2 or Apple Silicon won't Netboot, so the Netinstall functionality is no longer useful.

Agreed on MDM, especially for medium to large companies. My school district uses Jamf for its Macs, Airwatch for iPads/iPhones, and Mosyle for AppleTVs. Don't ask me why we use different MDMs; I'm not the one in charge.
