I wonder how many other massively influential business people in decades to come would leave a legacy so many treasure that meant that a relatively nondescript job app form of theirs would command the equivalent of $50k (and likely more)?

Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Mark "Please, call me the messiah" Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, even Elon Musk...

None of them come close to earning the levels of adoration and admiration that so many people have for Steve Jobs. That in itself is a quite remarkable achievement.

Steve Jobs was like a lightning bolt for the consumerization of information technology. His leadership brought concepts, normally left entirely on the table, or reserved for the most exclusive enterprise circles to the masses. And beyond that, he completely revolutionized the entertainment (music then a bit less so film/tv) industry and most especially how we commoditize and consume music and video.

Finally, and probably the most significant point I wish to highlight is the fact that only Apple was able to completely revolutionize the way mobile phones and their associated services were to be consumed in the US and other monopolized economies. Massive, massive achievement for any entity.

Access to transportation is what they were worried about? They should have been asking about access to Wozniak.

The questionnaire I think is fantastic. It provides an amazing example of how dismissing candidates out of hand because of their car situation or not happening to have majored in the "right thing" or "the right place" (or even having a degree at all) is foolhardy. I also like how the skills are varied enough. A lot of today's recruiters should have a copy of this document on their desk as a reminder that there's more to finding talent than jumping on Ziprecruiter.

I think the ONLY contenders are Bill Gates and Warren Buffet because they both adhere to business basics instead of risky nonsense, and both are leaving almost all of their vast fortunes to help others.

I am a Steve Jobs fanboy, but I would not care so much about a paper he signed, especially if it meant forking out thousands of dollars.
But 100 years from now... I wouldn't need to own it, but I'd think it was cool to see a signed document by Thomas Edison. In 1940 it might have seemed like a signed piece of paper from a captain of industry, but today it would feel like history.
I miss him so much. He was one of us.
I don't know who or what you are, but I'm pretty sure Jobs was none of us. A man without a tribe.

For purposes of appraisal, here's the email in its entirety: "Maybe you need to do a clean install." I'd say that's a $7,500 email, when the raw header data is included,... at the very least? It's almost priceless, actually.

Sorry the best I can do is $5 CASH MONEY and a free autographed ChumLee bobblehead.

I've seen Tim Cook sign a ton of autographs and all that. He's really nice to "regular people."

Steve Jobs was also pretty easy to get an autograph - but I did see him use the "if I sign product X I feel like I am taking credit" reason before. But overall he was an easy autograph to get as well. Tim Cook will sign products no problem.

Cook also jokes as well - he'll take a selfie with you as long as you use an iPhone! Lol.

Bill Gates is really hard. He's very anti-social. I don't think he's a jerk just that he's not really a people's person? Gates always comes off to me as the ultimate awkward nerd.

Apple's getting into a auction business..... . This is treasure, why auction it?
$50,000 for a piece of paper is kinda laughable.

Asking anyone for an autograph is pathetic as is the new and much more vile method of annoying people (selfies). Why would anyone think another person would want to be hassled for their autograph? The celebrities and athletes who refuse to provide them are doing the right thing. I do like the athletes who require money to sign because they can find suckers to pay.

What would make someone think it would be acceptable to call over another person from their car and ask for an autograph and then when refused start badgering them to do so. I can’t imagine being so pretentious that I would not have the decency to walk over and not call out to someone much like you would a dog. More importantly if you are going to bother someone at least have something of value to say in that brief moment or don’t bother them at all.

That employment questionnaire is a hoot! I like how it says "none" for the section regarding "phone". How weird is that considering what his company did with it. He fills out that questionnaire just like the way he spoke when selling a product. In this case he was selling himself. I like how one option for skills is "Calculator".
