I'm looking for a way to enable Dark Mode just for specific apps (especially Photos). Does anyone know if this is possible?

What I have found so far (entering "defaults write <app identifier> NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance -bool NO" in the Terminal) does only exactly the opposite of what I want: it excludes apps from Dark Mode.

This question has come up elsewhere, specifically turning off or excluding "Dark Mode" for MS Excel. It appears it's an all or nothing option. I use Dark Mode but there are certain apps that it just doesn't work well with.

The better solution I believe is if there are apps that Dark Mode doesn't go well with, the developer should be contacted and asked to make adjustments.
