Enable instant sleep on 10.9.2

Hey All,

Apple modified the power button behaviour, restoring it to 10.8 functionality (mostly) with the 10.9.2 update.

I actually preferred the Mavericks GM behaviour of instant sleep when pressing the button. Does anyone know if there is a way to switch it back to this?

There is a Terminal command here you can use to restore the old behavior.

I apologize. I misread your post. I thought you wanted to get back to the 10.8 behavior.

AppleScripts?

do shell script "pmset displaysleepnow"

or

do shell script "pmset sleepnow"

You can set these up as services, or run thru something like FastScripts.
Either way, hook them up to the key combo of your choice.
