Its not a new feature, just a lame feature. If u dont want ppl stealing info then maybe dont put it in your phone. Common sense goes a long way. Too bad apple lacks this.
I'm pretty sure Apple does know. That's why they included it. There's not a lot of common sense currently in the "wild". Many need saving from themselves...

Good article. Not going to enable this mode. But definitely good to know what all features are available when this mode is enabled.

Better yet: when you get your iPhone, just leave it in the factory default state and don’t sign into anything on it or add any contacts or any other data whatsoever. Don’t text anyone and don’t make any calls. Common sense.
Better yet just leave it in the box. Trust me it's very secure that way😃
The most secure option is to not buy it in the first place. 😀
Not being born is quite effective at securing your data and property.

For those using (or at least who fully understand) Lockdown, two questions:
1) If a website is excluded in Lockdown mode, does that turn off all the sandbox protections that Lockdown mode offers? E.g. does it fully reenable JIT JavaScript compilation? Or does it still give some protection relative to no Lockdown mode?

2) Are website exceptions to Lockdown available in other browsers or did Apple make it only possible in Safari?

I'm trying Lockdown mode now and really the only issue I have is that multiple websites don't work. If I disable Lockdown mode for those sites in Safari, they work again though not sure if I am net gaining anything at that point. Plus if website exceptions to Lockdown mode are limited to Safari due to Apple rules, I'm practically not able to use other browsers whose privacy controls and content blockers I otherwise prefer.
