Recently enabled esim for my Tmobile postpaid account. Everything works flawlessly, but I have noticed the battery draining faster than normal. Is this normal? I didn't think this would have much of an impact on battery life.

I have e-sim enabled on my XSmax and haven’t noticed any unusual battery drain. Curious. Is the background app refresh setting in Settings>General>Background App Refresh toggled on? If so, then that would account for battery drain. I have mine set to “off”.

I only have it active for Google Maps, Nest, and the News app. Ive always had it set up like this. Strange.

Curious. Settings>Battery: which apps are showing the greatest usage?

Google Maps can be quite a drain. I suggest toggling the background option off for all apps, then monitor your battery usage.
