I disabled my dashboard using a command in the Terminal I read in a site but after some time, I would like my dashboard back. I tried the command which was supposed to bring back the dashboard but I could not see my widgets back. It asked me to re-start dashboard, how do I do it? And where do you think are my widgets? thanks

I believe dashboard is a part of the dock so if you restart the dock then it may come up. (killall Dock) If that doesn't work i would reboot.

I think the widgets will show up once dashboard reappears, if not have a look /Library/Widgets and ~/User/username/Library/Widgets

I jsut disabled dashboard and reenabled it using the terminal commands found here and it all worked perfectly.

To turn Dashboard off:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES

To turn Dashboard on:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO

You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:

killall Dock
