How do you enable links in an e-mail? Whenever I click on a link, the dock just moves a bit, and no action takes place. How can I fix this?

Edit>Add Hyperlink
 
No, I don't want to add a link, I want to click on the link and have my browser open to the page. How do I do this?
 
This should "just work" (how many times have we all heard that!?).

Ad it's not, check that your default web browser is actually installed.

Opern Safari Preferences and see what it says for Web Browser:
