encrypt a whole lot of word docs (automator?)

hey all,

i'm trying to add passwords to (encrypt) several dozen word documents. of course i can open each one, add a password, and then save, but that will take forever. is there a way to encrypt a whole batch of files at once (with the same password)? possibly an automator function?
