Can anybody recommend an encryption app in which I can store sensitive info BUT which lets me access the info on both my iPhone and iPad as well as my Mac (i.e. which has some kind of cloud storage and cross platform support)?

Because of the need for encryption, Dropbox won't cut it. I'd also like to be able to access and edit files on each device without having to manually copy them from somewhere and the reupload them afterward.

A Crashplan Pro account encrypts all your backed up data and enables mobile access via an iOS app. I'm not sure how you'd go about editing the data though. Round tripping is a pain on ios devices even without considering encryption.

Ah, brilliant idea! Except that I'm going to use SpiderOak, which is my encrypted backup option of choice. I just created a text file which I saved to my desktop full of the info. This is then uploaded to spideroak automatically. Then I can use the iOS client to download it. It isn't round tripping but it'll do to get sensitive info from my mac to my iPad safely.

As for round trip editing I'm really hoping this arrives with Mountsin Lion and the new versions of the iWorks apps. It's ridiculous that we an only seamlessly edit iCloud docs on iOS devices.

Check out:

Works with Dropbox. It will encrypt from the iOS side too.

Wouldn't 1Password do this? It's available for Mac, iPhone, and iPad, and syncs across all devices. It can use Dropbox to effortlessly sync without manually initiating sync, but your 1Password database is password protected, so it's inaccessible to anyone but you.

1Password will support attachments in OSX, but not in iOS. I contacted them about this recently, and they said they were "considering" supporting it in iOS at some point.

The OP didn't mention attachments, he asked about editing files, presumably text data. I do this with 1Password often, with Secure Notes. I keep secure text information in here, and edit it with any device running 1Password, all kept secure with my complex password.

Yeah - Secure Notes would work fine for copying and pasting text between iOS and a Mac. It would also presumably (haven't tried it) allow secure sharing of Pages, Numbers, or whatever files between Macs - but not between Macs and iOS devices. Just depends on what you're looking to do.
I love 1Password --- but man, it's cost me a good amount of money over the years...

The lack of a filesystem in iOS raises it's ugly head again here. It's just plain frustrating trying to move stuff around in it.
Boxcryptor allows me to encrypt some things between iOS and OSX that I couldn't otherwise. Fortunately it does what I was looking for it to do, but it looks a lot of other uses are choked down by iOS.
It's free to try for anybody. Still quite early in development - 1.0 on the iPad app, and beta in OSX. Should only get better.
