It feels odd that slowly but surely I am seeing friends and family all appearing on my contacts list for signal , before I had used signal and telegram for a few months and not one person switched.

For anyone else who doesn't move across then it's iMessage or good old SMS!

Cellebrite just defeated Signal security several weeks ago (albeit content on the device, seemingly not in transit):

American school districts are also purchasing Cellebrite tech:

Enjoy.

No they did not.

Signal App Crypto Cracked, Claims Cellebrite and Ends up Deleting their Announcement in Shame

No, Cellebrite cannot 'break Signal encryption.'

Zero reasons? I was just reading on Reddit that Signal is blocked from being downloaded in some countries.
Obviously I am talking from a Western European and generally democratic perspective. It’s still legal to have a perspective, right? There is probably no app that is not blocked by some country around the world.

Facebook has a profile on you REGARDLESS of whether you use their service. Same with Google. Get Firefox with uMatrix and see just how often Facebook tries to track your online time. Or get Facebook Container to try and 100% block FB from tracking you.

There are bunches of apps that do not call home to their home server, BUT RATHER CALLS HOME TO FACEBOOK!

EVEN IF YOU DON'T USE FACEBOOK, Facebook is still using you. You are a PRODUCT FOR SALE to them.
Facebook, are you connected to the CIA 🤣?

Just deleted the WhatsApp app the other day.
Remember all those promises by the original developers how they were going to protect our data. LOL they sold us out for money. o_O

They all promise "security" and "privacy", even Google and Facebook. Seems like these two terms can be defined however you like.

Technology is getting more and more dangerous. They are using this against us. The mobile phone is becoming too intelligent for it's own good. We store precious amounts of valuable data on our devices and we have it with us at all times. I no longer feel safe with owning a mobile phone. Convenience over privacy and safety, I choose to have the latter. I do not like where technology is headed. I would love to go back to the days where things were much simpler. All the events that are going on have open my eyes and made me realized that there is no such thing as privacy when you're connected to the internet. If you want the utmost privacy then the best thing to do is just to pull the plug.

I no longer support big tech companies for the censorship and unfair play that they have recently committed. This is communism and pure evil and corrupt. Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Spotify, Amazon, Whatsapp, Twitch, Instagram, Snapchat, and the list goes pretty far. Thankfully I do not use most of those social engineering platforms.

Apple, I had my faith in you and trusted you as a company that had good ethics and morals, a company that really cared about your users and to protect them. But after what you did, I can no longer ever look at you the same way. Shame on you!

Where do you draw the line? I think underage porn should be prevented and aggressively attacked. If a platform is benefiting from such acts, I think it should have to pay for that. While I think it's unreasonable to police everything people say all the time (this leads to dangerous repression) - there are limits. Some of the stuff that these new "social media" apps contained was even beyond the line for me and I'm more pro free speech than not.

Freedom of speech is ok as long as it isn't hurting others (underage porn, terrorist activities, celebrating mass murder, etc etc etc).

Privacy is an illusion today and most people just don't care, sadly.
