Is there a way to set up some type of encryption for my connection from my Belkin Wireless router?

Sure. Just type in the default ip address to access the router, most routers are 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. It will have the address on a sticker or something on the router. Then just find the encryption page and type in a password (older routers have to have 8 or 16 characters). And then just click update, or save changes, whatever button will save the changes to the router. Thats it.
