Hello,

I made an encrypted backup in iTunes of my iPhone X, and it was HUGE (164GB.) I had chosen to keep originals of my iCloud Photo Library (which is 141GB) since I have the 256GB model. I thought an iTunes backup did not include the iCloud Photo Library? I'm guessing this is not the case when the backup is encrypted.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks.

Before I started this thread, I read the Apple Support article https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht204136 that says iCloud photos are not included. But the huge backup I have seems to indicate otherwise. And that article wasn’t clear about photos in encrypted backups. (Only about Activity, Health and Keychain data.)

That’s why I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. It might be a bug.
