The only thing about June announcements is that WWDC is only ever used for pro announcments... But the week before like Airport Express?

It's not too difficult to figure out that any model that would run too hot with a G5 is going to move to a lower power Intel processor.

That pretty much covers all the G4's, but there's no telling
which model will get first priority.

I'm thinking that Apple might go Intel only for those models
which actually can not be improved without a low power processor.

This could possibly leave a door open for IBM in the PPC workstations for quite some time.

A lot can happen over 2 years.

Right now, I believe it is the Powerbooks that are the most in need of Intel processors. If Powerbooks went Intel first, G4 iBooks would not be in any major competition with them on a professional level.

Im hoping to see new ibooks around christmas (late december-early january). This is very possible IMO b/c Apple could upgrade the chip right away to 7448 as well as increasing the video RAM to 64MB.

They didn't upgrade the Powerbooks with the 7448 CPU, why would they do so with the iBooks? Why would they give the iBooks a better CPU than the Powerbooks have? And if they gave the iBooks 64MB VRAM, they would have a better GPU than the 12" Powerbook.

I absolutely must buy a new notebook this week so I hope that these are the end of the line simply because I don't want to kick myself later. I wanted to wait until the intel notebooks but I'll wait a year or so for them to iron out any kinks.

And because there is NOWHERE for the iBook to go since there weren't really any new features to add from this Powerbook revision like last time like the SMS or the scrolling trackpad I have come to the firm conclusion there will be no more PowerPC notebook updates whatsoever and if you want a Motorola PowerPC processor in a notebook then you realize that these are the best and most powerful PowerPC notebooks that Apple will EVER produce.

Motorola doesn't make CPUs anymore. You're referring to the Freescale G4 used in the mobile line.

I agree on other points...probably the last PPC in the mobile line.

Every Mac currently in product lineup will be updated at least once before the Intel switch, so we have yet to see the last PPC laptops.

Unlikely, anyway notice that they are currently leaving the premium model of the PB empty (with the 1.67 being the "lower" model). The 7448 will more likely show up in that machine, with the old 1.67 price point, then show up in an iBook, if EVER.

What is possible is the iBooks might see a bump to 1.5, that's it.
