(This is just my thoughts) But, i think Apple is going to kill off the 4S on 9.2.1 (No more software updates) I mean, it only seems right. It's getting pretty long in the tooth. The A5 can't live forever, and as far as i'm concerned, the damn thing shouldn't have even gotten iOS 9. Now, don't get me wrong, my 4S runs 9.2.1 just fine (the battery is a little under par, but not too nit-picky) They killed the 4 off with 7.1.2, it only seems right to end the 4S off here where it still has a tiny bit of usability left.

You meant iOS 9 and not 9.2.1 right ? Because it's already confirmed that the iPhone 4s is getting iOS 9.3 from the current beta testing.

My guess is that they'll keep supporting the A5 until they drop 32 bit support. Remember, they still sell the A5 based ATV3. If that's the case, we have a year or two since Apple just stopped selling the A6 based iPhone 5C.

The ATV3 doesn't run on iOS 9 or is being supported. ATV4 does run pretty much off iOS and its iOS 9, it's 98% iOS code reskinned for a TV UI.

The A5 ATV3 would have zero effect on their decisions of iPhone support.
