Videos don't work on my iPad, epic fail for the brownosers at engadget, jobs better not move his butt or there are goin to be a lot of broken noses.

Might be an AOLWeblogs thing because none of their other blogs have videos (like Joystiq) that run on the iPad unless they're hosted on YouTube of course.

I was more interested on the FaceTime review video. Now i'm even more excited for the iPhone 4!!!

I was able to download the raw MOV file from Engadget and sync it to my iPad using iTunes and it works just fine!

From the Engadget review:

"...and even a phone like the HTC Droid Incredible -- which just came out -- seems last-generation." (

While okay, no one would give the Incredible a design prize :)

However, you left out the much harsher first part of their sentence:

The 3GS now feels cheap and chubby by comparison... - Engadget

Interesting that so many people hated the new iPhone design at first... even to the point of believe it was a decoy... because "Apple would never design something like that"... and now they love it.

The sharp change in design philosophy (from metrosexual to industrial) makes it look like the testosterone laden Droid ads had an effect at Apple.

Anyone else having problems viewing the review?

Using IE on Win7, two diff computers, I get to the first video and thats it.

My iPhone can see the whole thing

same here.

ran it on Safari and while it shows the whole thing there must be something on that website after the video because Safari takes CPU usage to 85-90%

Ugh the assertion made in nearly every review is that it's a better product now but a worse phone. Thats just sad. Get us the eff off of AT&T, please.

Except the iPhone 4 was designed well before those ads existed.

However, I want to point out how much I enjoy your posts; no matter the subject at hand you find a way to say something in a negative manner about Apple. Bravo!

Really? I read four reviews, and didn't get that from any of them.

The one that ripped AT&T the worst was Walt Mossberg (whom I can't stand, BTW), and he even said it was better, but not good enough.

Every other review said that the phone was either MUCH better, or somewhat better. If you're not in NYC or SF, it's probably much better.

IMO, it's too bad that most of these early reviewers are based in NYC, because I have had very few--if any--problems using the iPhone as a phone.

Two of the main reviews up stated they had fewer dropped calls, but increased situations where they simply get no service messages. Thats not what I expected to see with the fancy new antenna design. I'll test mine out tomorrow though.

Ah, I see what you're saying, and I did see that. Yes, that's a problem.

The videos worked fine on my iPad. Looked really good (the raw HD link, not the embedded player which was obviously compressed)

Just as expected: another suckfest by Engadget. They would probably praise Steve Jobs' turds if they were given some to review.

Engadget has become nothing but Apple fanboys, it's sad to see.

Ha. Here it comes. Bring on the Apple Hate. Are you too lazy to read the other reviews that were posted? I'll sum them all up for you: All POSITIVE!

If memory serves me correctly, just about every single review claims that allow the iPhone still has it's short comings, the new iPhone is back on top as the phone to beat. Now go play with your EVO. Just make sure its plugged into the wall.

The jokes on you considering you bought an iPad and now you're dissing it. If you're going to talk trash, don't buy apple products. It's as simple as that. Go ahead, put your iPad up for sale. Practice what you preach.

I simply cannot believe that ANYONE on this site would still use Internet Explorer. I understand that we aren't all Tech Geniuses, but this is just common sense people. Internet Explorer is garbage. Do yourself a favor and download Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or even Opera.

I have the exact same problem in Opera both at work and home, the article ends on the video. First time I've *ever* found a site that doesn't work on either Opera or IE.

That's a lot of work and transferring for a "magical" device lol. It's still an EPIC fail for a website that prides itself on being Apple fanboys. :apple:

Learn to read please. I was dissing Engadget for not making their video ipad compatible. In any case I can talk all the trash about Apple products I want AND keep the product, but in this particular case I wasn't.

What's with the hostility? Xanax can help with that, seriously it's an internet forum and life is too short. :p

That "off" button on Engadget is incredible. From past experience, and from reading a few replies in this thread, I can only imagine the level of stupidity in those comments.

Also, the battery life part was great to read.

Anybody know what ringtone the reviewer was using in the FaceTime demo video? It's not one of iPhone's factory ringtones.
