He has a point. Using a lighting charger is a waste of time in 2022. Even the iPads use USBC. We all know apple just wants to squeeze some extra cash out of us. I use the S22Ultra with USBC and it charges the phone at least 2x faster than my iPhone 13 ProMax.
He doesn't, the engineer had fun with it and then some...

"It was for fun, I just wanted to see if I could do it," he explained, adding that such projects serve as a great example of what can be achieved with devices, even without the help of the companies that originally made them.

Cool. What is his tell?

It's his tongue. He sticks out the tip of his tongue and wiggles it. He doesn't know he's doing it. He just gets excited when he draws a good hand.

He is a SUPER SPY. Can't you tell?

Apple became too greedy and to arrogant to add standard ports to their devices. Even if they outperform its own ports simplifies the handling of mobile devices.

I (and I’m not the only one) suspect the next port on iPhone will be NO port. MagSafe / wireless only. There really is actually no reason at this time for any port at all except to initially turn on wireless syncing with Finder / iTunes - and that’s an easy software solution.
