As one of the few MacRumors members from the Detroit area (and a big Detroit Tigers fan), I have to say... I love that video!

P.S., They play "Detroit Rock City" at Comerica Park before every Tigers game!

I loved the video too 🙂 St. Andrews Hall and I'm wondering if that was the Westin Brook Cadillac Hotel he went to bed in. I loved the way the curtain opened at the end. Sweet commercial.

Where have you been? Edward Snowden, contractor for the US Government, released data showing that 280 million Americans have NSA files on them, and that all phone calls and internet traffic are monitored and saved. We are all on a watch list, unless you are in a crib or hospice.

Yay for iPad support, really wanting that. I do hope that Google Maps change the current location 'dot' to something a bit more apparent, the matte light blue tends to be hard to see from a distance. Maybe something a little darker and more shadow around it would be easier to see.

Again, can't wait for iPad support.

google maps is gone again from app store...

can someone confirm this?

not long again I downloaded G maps for my sister's iPhone with her account. I was still trying to hold on to iOS 5 on my iphone 4 for that native google map experience.

Just yesterday, I decided to unlock my phone with ATT. That forced me to upgrade to iOS 6. I thought, fine, i'll just get the google maps app, then I realize the app is gone from the app store (US) again! Very strange, and I couldn't find anyone else discussing about this...😕

It is because a new version is rolling. Should be out this evening.

9to5mac and Engadget reported that the new version of Google Maps has been released and "available in some Asian countries", however, in my country's App Store (Hong Kong; GMT+8), Google Maps has disappeared from the App Store instead.

That means it is rolling out. It will appear shortly.

Google has certainly made a great contribution to the enjoyment and functionality of Apple's iPhone. With maps alone, they've saved Apple's butt from that dreadful experiment they pulled. Although I do see a slight improvement in Apple maps, that was a stupid waste of time considering that Apple is quite skilled in other areas.

Haha, no.

Well, maybe not to the same extent as Apple Maps. No service is perfect. Google has steered me wrong on more than one occasion. However, I have the new version of Google Maps, and I like what I see. I had been using Apple Maps more than Google, but that's going to change now.
