One more thing...that automobile rumor you've been seeing was all a ruse to hide the fact that we've brought Steve Jobs back from the dead and have inserted him into a new apple branded android body. HE will be taking back the company shortly thereafter. Pre-orders for your very own Apple body will start next week. :D
🤣
Shut up and take my money!

iPhone 13 Pro Max isn't so last year until it finally gets dropped off from the list of the newest iOS## Supported Devices.

But the jump from 11 to 12 and 12 to 13 were? This should be a bigger jump then either one of those but who knows. It's all rumors and rumors have been wrong before.
In my opinion, the jump from iPhone 11 to 12 was pretty big in terms of both design and raw computational power (A13 to A14). Actually, the jump from the A13 to the A14 was the last one with a node shrink.

The jump from the iPhone 12 to 13 was more subtle, as the design was pretty similar, and the difference between the A14 and the current A15 was focused mainly on efficiency.

If we consider the regular iPhone 14, the jump from the 13 is going to be negligible. Yeah the 14 will have 6GB of RAM whilst the 13 only had 4GB, and that’s important in the long term. But the SoC is going to be the same, the A15, and the same for the design. So yeah, I’m with @Ifti on this one.

The jump on the Pro lineup, on the other hand, can be pretty noticeable with the A16 and the jump in megapixels (from 12 to 48), but I expect the biggest jump when Apple starts using a titanium chasis, periscope lens, and USB-C. Hopefully all of that will be happening next year for the iPhone 15.

You do know dead pan humour is quite hard to convey successfully on a forum post. Don't you?

I'll assume you meant this in a humorous way…

If you were being serious, then… oh dear.

Indeed.
All over… *sigh*
Technically, the 14s won’t actually release until the 16th…so you’ll still the newest until they come out.

17 people got the joke thus far.

Usually upgrade every year.
This year I have absolutely no interest whatsoever. The jump between handsets is now too small to justify the extra price tag - for me anyways. Upon setup, within a few hours it's just 'meh, more of the same' all over again. Will be sticking to my 13PM and upgrade to iOS 16 until the iPhone 15 at the very least so that an 'upgrade' actually feels like an upgrade.
I feel this comment on so many levels. I had the 11 PM and then got the 12 PM and realized I almost had the same phone. I was really underwhelmed with the 12PM. I vowed not to get the 13 PM but I switched carriers and got the 13 PM. I think I’m also going to sit this year out and I say this now but somehow I manage to get the newest. When I do I feel like I could’ve passed up on it. If anything I’ll get the new Apple Watch.

12 pro max to the 13 pro max was a big jump for me in terms of battery

if the 14 pro max can beat it in terms of battery, its going to be insane!

as others have said is the 14 pro max worth the extra premium over he 13 pro max? we shall have to see at the keynote..

True. My iPhone 13 Pro Max is the best and most powerful iPhone EVAH!

Well, until the next few hours anyway. ;) Since I have the 13PM, doubtful I will upgrade this year. Just doesn't make much sense to, unless some sort of killer feature is going to be included. Don't see that happening this year.

Still, I always look forward to these events. Kinda sorta like getting one of those JC Penny or Sears Xmas catalogs every Fall when I was a kid. It was fun seeing what was the newest toy I would lust for each year.

I really wanted to skip this year, but if they really do improve the camera a lot, I probably will upgrade (13pm currently). I'm a nature addict, me and the wife spend a lot of time walking, visiting National Trust properties (UK thing), and so on. In fact we're a member of I think 6 or 7 different garden / heritage groups.
Yes I could buy a dedicated camera, but I have a baby boy and carrying all of him & his stuff as well = damage risk...

I really wanted the smaller phone (ie. 14 pro), assuming the cameras are the same, but I dont want to compromise the battery life so suspect it will be 14pm.
