hi i have entourage 2004 , does the ability to auto archive exist as it does in outlook for the pc?

how do I set it up

if not, what happens to old messages? do they stay in my email forever?

also, how do I set the deleted items to auto delete (if possible)

tks

My advice to you is to drop Entourage 2004 like a bad habit unless it is your only way to access your Exchange server.

That said, Entourage 2004 archives have the extension .rge which are not compatible with b]Outlook[/b] .pst archives. Entourage prefers that its users organize all communications as Projects. A project may include messages, contacts, appointments, etc. When it is archived, everything associated with the project is saved in the .rge file. Archiving data does not delete the originals. I am aware of no email client that does not permit manual deletion of messages. Certainly, Entourage 2004 allows the user to delete messages and other data. Auto-delete would be an incredibly dangerous feature if Entourage had it. Fortunately, it does not.
