Just wondering if there is anyway of getting OSX to recognise this as it does my Sony camera so that i go through its SD card via finder.

Currently the only way i seem to be able to do it is via canons image browser software but i don't want to use that.

350d/rebel xt won't mount on your desktop. You have to import the photos via image capture. Either that or use a card reader.

you'd think with what is probably the most popular dSLR that it would automount just like my cheap sony

Card readers are cheap, and a good investment. Security, in case the battery fails while downloading pics from camera.

I'm no expert but I connected my Uk spec 350d to my Intel iMac without installing any software and iPhoto popped up from where I could just drag and drop the pictures.

I only did it once as I usually just take the sd card and put it into my PC server which files all the pictures without going over the network.
