Eps files freeze mac mail

Hi All

This is the strangest thing - I have tried all that I can think of to fix the problem - when ever I receive an email with an eps file as an attachment I get the spinning beach ball and mail freezes, all other mail with attachments are fine. I can get the mail off the server and out of Entourage. I have searched mac help to no avail. I also add that I am running a g5 dual processor with OS X 10.4.9 😕
