wife found some image of a purple flower for the desktop on the iMac, problem is i cant remove the image off the desktop it says

The item “beautiful_purple_flower-wallpaper-1680x1050.jpg” can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted.

never had this happen before what am I doing or not doing to cause this to happen?

The wallapaper isn't even the purple flower anymore and she had copied it into the pictures folder as well, but there are two files on the desktop i can't remove now

one appears to be a jpg the other same name but says part at the end

Can't open them, can't drag to trash, hit get info nothing happens if i drag to trash it says

2 items can’t be moved to the Trash because they can’t be deleted.

Yes I am still new to the imac if you can't tell

    Thanks for any help,

Just restarted the mac and they were gone, thought about it from a windows perspective sometimes files won't go away but restart fixes it and yep that fixed it they are gone.
