Error 0x800002E: itunes won't update

I have a bunch of apps that itunes tells me that there is an update for, but when i download them, i get an error 0x800002E, with a message that the apps aren't on the phone. Weirdly, these updates do not show up in the red circle on the iphone itself, even if i check for updates.

I had this problem yesterday trying to update "Hold 'Em Poker"... disconnected, powered down my iPod Touch, and tried again. Worked fine on the next sync.
