error 1002 while restoring to 4.0

I have an iphone 3Gs old bootrom and i tried restoring to OS 4.0 but keep getting error 1002 message. Also, im using itunes 9.2...can anyone help me out?

I have the same question,restoring to 4.0 , when the bar was almost complete,then gave out error 1002,i have tried many times,with and with out DFU mode,the result is unluck!

I was getting 1600 error or something when I upgraded my cousins 3GS old bootrom to 4.0 (pwnagetool custom firmware). So I tried to restore while in Recovery mode instead of DFU and it worked.

Are you trying to restore while in DFU?

i update firmware 3.0 to 4.0 successfull by itunes.
after i download some games from appstore with a new account...my iphone was no signal no wifi...and itunes says it go into recovery mode...then restoring to official 4.0 ...always ended with error 1002.
