iPod touch Error 1604 after trying 3.0

yesterday i tried to put 3.0 beta on my itouch, and it had too many bugs so i'm not trying to take it off. i put my itouch into restore mode, and tried to restore it to 2.2.1, on two different computers. each time i get it preparing for restore for a while, before it saying something like "ipod can not be restored, error 1604." i have no idea what to do, and i really do NOT want to jailbreak it. i've had it less than a week and i already screwed it up :\ help me pleasee?

Put the iPod touch into DFU mode and then restore from there. After that it should work just like normal.
