I am unable to install the throttle fix patch to my new 13" 2018 i7 MacBook pro.

It fails to install with error code 602 from either the app store update tab, or the manually downloaded patch. I even booted into 'safe' mode with the same result.

Any suggestions? (Our commiseration?)

Since this fix is so fresh I doubt lots of members wil have a solution. Isn't it wise to contact :apple: customer support?

I am having the exact same issue, talking with Apple Support via Twitter and so far, they have been useless.

Same here but via live chat, they said it is a network issue and tried some troubleshooting steps but nothing has worked so far

Only 13" users?

I got the error once, it kept lagging around 2 minutes on install. Closed the App Store and restarted computer and it went through.

Yeah 13" and mine is doing the exact same. Restart didn't seem to work, Apple suggested using another wifi network so I'll try that in the morning

I am also on a 13” - still no luck.

I have tried direct download, safe mode, shutting off WiFi (with direct downloaded file), turning off proxy detection, multiple reboots, multiple WiFi network... still no dice. Like another user described, it usually starts to install, then freezes/lags after a minute or two, then errors out. This is effectively a brand new machine with almost nothing else installed on it at this point.

Sounds like you have done most everything you can do on your own.
What did AppleCare tell you when you called about your issue? They may simply swap you out.

My 13” i7 went right through, no issues. Did it at about 8:45 central and the download went quick and installed without a hitch. I wonder if you could reset the download and start fresh.

They told me Network or there was a security app running, neither was the case. I tried 3 networks and my hotspot on my iPhone X with Verizon. No luck across the board including safe mode not working.

here is the fix:
1.Restart into recovery mode use terminal and type "csrutil disable"
2.Restart back into normal mode
3.Restart back info recovery mode use terminal and type "csrutil enable"
4.Restart to install the update.
Still having the same issue, did this work for anyone else?

Be interesting to see when they’ll start shipping them with the fix. So much for all those “oh you guys are exaggerating the throttling/heat issues” but those characters unfortunately never rest.

The 20th time was the charm... I wish I had any explanation for it working this afternoon, but it did - via Mac App Store update.

still happening for me...

anybody? anything?

Ive already setup the entire machine so I don't feel like reinstalling the OS

Same issue here, even the senior advisor had no clue, they've escalated the issue to their engineering team and waiting for a resolution.

Frustrating.
