Error 602 - 2018 MacBook Pro throttle patch

Have you heard anything back from Apple yet?
No, I was on with a senior advisor, who asked me to submit my MacBook pro's logs to their engineering team. Said it could take anywhere from 1-4 days to hear back.

I do see a few threads about this about, so we're not the only ones with this issue.

Annoying.

You've got to love apple. The senior tech got back to me, who heard from their engineering department.

What worked for me was:

Start up like normal.
Log out, without shutting down.
Hold down power key for at least 8 seconds, Mac will turn off and turn back on. Press power key to turn back on if necessary.
Sign in like normal.
Run update.

This worked for me, and the update sailed through like normal.

Good luck all!

I just received my 6th call from Apple Support and this one did the trick. Finally got the update and no more error.

All Macs with a T2 chip need to shut down, once fully shut down, hold the power button for about 15 seconds (you'll see the Apple logo appear and then disappear and go back into a shut down state), once that's finished, turn it back on, log in and do the update. You're good to go from there.

It was an SMC Reset.

This worked for me too, thanks!

I also had the same issue the first thing that I suggest is that you back up all your file on a separate hard drive that you trust that could work and then back up every single file that you have on your computer and then factory reset your computer after you backed up your computer and you shouldn't have to update your computer.Though for your backup software I suggest you use Time Machine though really don't try to modify the code of App Store and try to install the update with brute force and mess up everything in your computer at the end.

This finally did it for me, too! Thanks!
