im having an issue. i want to transfer an 8g file from my mac to a pc. i tried putting the file on an external hd and a flash drive but kept getting ERROR CODE 0 - both were formatted FAT32. i reformatted the flash through disk utility to mac OS and the files would copy. but then my pc wouldnt read it!!! the file is a program install so i dont think i can split it! what can i do to get this file transferred??!!???? any suggestions would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!

Yes you are getting that error because the file is larger than 4 GB. As to making it smaller, I don't know; what kind of file is it?

Error code 0

the file is pro tools 8 LE. installation. its compatible with mac and pc. im trying to install it on a vaio with windows xp. i just cant figure out how to get it there. its SUPER FRUSTRATING!! ( i dont have it on disk either. )

You have a couple options. The easiest is copy it via Ethernet. You could compress it and try to burn it to a double layer DVD. You could install macfuse and ntfs-3g on your Mac so you can read/write ntfs drives.
