Just ran diagnostics on my M1 MBP 13 so see if everything is ok. Did this test while running on battery and got a PPP001. Never experienced this before. Redone diagnose plugged in with a thumbs up. Read on the web that other people experienced the same thing with their Macs while running diagnostics on battery. One wrote that Apple changed the software lately and that a PPP001 is ok when running unplugged. Any ideas if this is true? THX for your expertise.

Just means it's not plugged in, so diagnostics can't fully test the power circuit. Nothing wrong.

So, before the update it’d ignore things it doesn’t anymore. Sounds like progress to me?
It would be much better to say that it couldn't test the charging system if you weren't plugged in, rather than an error code that means diddly squat to most people. It'd be an easy fix. I consider this a fail for diagnostics and its UI.
