My MBP has been locking up a lot lately. I am worried that it might be the nVidia graphics card. I have cut and pasted the error log here. I put a dashed line below to help see where the computer was rebooted. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Possibly. The best thing to do is to bring it into an authorized Apple repair center. The only way to fix a bad G86 GPU is to swap the logic board and hope that the new one doesn't start behaving the same way. Unfortunately, NVIDIA hasn't seemed to take any real accountability for this problem yet.

My MBP suffered a pretty HARD crash about 2-3 months ago (logic board actually fried and took the hard drive along with it) that I was told was due to a faulty G86 (8600 GT) chip. I dropped the machine off at MacMedia (a local store I prefer to the Apple Store because of service quality) and got the machine back in about 7 days.

I haven't had any problems yet, knock on wood.

Could just be driver problems; try doing a PRAM reset and repair disk permission. Then if that doesn't work, try an 'Archive and Install' but if you're looking to give your computer away for a couple days, skip the last step and just take it to the store.
