I was wayching something on youtube the other day and i forget exactly what it was but i wanted to add it to my iphone so i followed the instructions by first adding a source. Well i guess it winds up the source was not good anymore and i got an error message and it was not added. But now everytime i open cydia i get this message. Its not a huge deal because i just just "ok" out of it and cydia works fine. I searched around seeing if i could get rid of it somehow and i cant find anything. Does anyone know what i mean or how to get rid of it?

Hi,

I hate that too, I can't find the faulty repo, i made a mistake when typing a source once and it wont go away.

Thanks

At the iPhone hacks section.
You might have to ssh into the phone and edit out a few things.
If you feel comfortable with it follow this:

In /private/var/lib/cydia delete out your bad url in the metadata.plist file. I used pList editor for windows to do it.

then in:

/private/var/lib/apt/list
and
/private/var/lib/apt/list/partial

delete out any files with the bad url in the name.

then

SSh and/or use diskaid (or equiv) and go to private/etc/apt/sources.list d

Open/edit cydia.list, Delete any bad URL entry
Upload the file back to the device and respring or restart iphone.
Then open up Cydia to test it out.

And next time be carefull when adding new repos and double check before clicking Add.

I thought only Rock had errors. Quite surprising anyone is having an error with Cydia.

It's because they didn't enter the repo address correctly. Cydia can't load the source so you can't delete it via Cydia. Has to be deleted via SSH.
Details don't matter - Cydia was supposed to be perfect. :D

It works very well, but operator error can always cause a problem.
Many cannot follow details and this is what happens.

A Porsche runs very well also, until you put water in the gas tank !
Details do matter.

Nope, not a fail. Details do not matter to the Cydia Sycophants and Rock Haters. Cydia should prevent operator errors or at a minimum have a more elegant way to fix an error like this than having to ssh into the phone. Major fail for Cydia.

Small price to pay to use cydia.
When Rock starts saving your SHSH's for your devices in order to restore or downgrade then we got a competitor.
Rock will probably die slow just like icy did years back.
