Error Message Pop Up....

For context, I have a base 14 inch M5 MacBook Pro (1TB SSD). I've had it for about one month.

While using it I received this pop up screen and then looked at the memory usage. No idea why pages is using 88GB?!?

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Yes, back in September 2025 on my 16GB/1TB iMac M3. Same odd pop-up; mine was Messages using almost 50GB...

macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 - Bug fixes, changes, and more

Upgraded my M3 iMac (16GB/1TB) to Tahoe 26.0.1 yesterday. Used it early this morning for a couple of hours then put it to sleep by pressing the Touch ID button. Woke it up 4 hours later and saw an error message I've never seen before... somehow my Messages app was using 47GB (!!!) and...

I attributed it to running a very early version of Tahoe but I have no idea what the actual cause was. I rebooted and everything has been fine since.

Certainly behaving like a memory leak.

Reboot is the short-term solution, but check for updates to macOS and Pages too.

I did a reboot and so far no further issues
