There is no sound on most of my downloaded movies.
The error message is: "Some necessary QuickTime software
is missing it may be available on the QuickTime web site."
The QuickTime web offers 12 or 13 different programs.
Please, how can I tell which is the relevant missing software?
I use a PowerMac G5 /OS X10.4.7
Sincerely,
Sally

Try using an app named VLC instead. It play a lot of different formats that QuickTime struggles with. 🙂

And if you still want to play your movies in QuickTime or Front Row, the most likely problem is that the movies probably have AC3 audio. You can get this codec to hopefully help with that. If that still doesn't work, we'd need more info about the movies you're trying to play (their extensions, at least.) Also note that it's very unlikely that any of the components listed at Apple's website will help.

No Sound with QuickTime

Excellent advice.
I can now watch the movies.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Sally
