Hi new to the forum, but thought this to be the best starting point for my question. I had several programs open along with mail on my iMac... i was printing an e-mail when the screened curtain came down.... first time I've ever seen it and have been using my mac for better than 2 years.. it instructed me to shut down my computer by holding the power button in and the restarting computer using the power button, I did this and then I received the "your computer was restarted because of a problem" dialogue and when i expanded the problem I copied this info and am pasting it here... can anyone explain to me what happened:

It looks like it was software that was associated with printing that caused the crash. If it doesn't happen again don't worry about. If it does, post again in this thread.

How long since the last time the system was rebooted?

wait... what, how is this resolved? Are mac users just so beaten down by these WinMEs (Lion) and Vistas (Mountain Lion) that we're wiling to accept an operating system that can't print an email without BSODing and losing all of your work?

Where is Fanboy A suggesting that OP unplug it and plug it back in?
Where is Fanboy B telling OP to buy a new $10,000 mac to fix it?
Where is Fanboy C yelling at Apple as though they read these forums?

Come on y'all. where's that fighting spirit? I have this same problem.
Details are 10.7.5 Lion, MacPro5,1 24GB ram, printing from Outlook over a lan to a Network HP printer.

It might've been a one time occurrence in which case the OP can't report back having fixed it. If it happens again, I'm sure they will post again.

And if it only happened once, that's way better than windows and needs no further input from here.
