Error message when unlocking with iphoneanywhere.ca

I'm trying to unlock my pre 1.1.1 iPhone with www.iphoneanywhere.ca and I get most of the way through the process until it comes time to install the simfree.app It gives me a message that says: "Error: Unable to enter recovery mode". Does anyone know what that means and what I can do about it? Am I using the best unlocking program? It's a regional version of www.iphonesimfree.com

Did you get it working? If you did can you please help me out?

I am using iphoneanywere as well.
