Error Navigating Away From Macrumors

Here's an annoyance when navigating to another website from Macrumors. Often times I'll leave Macrumors for another site in the bookmarks bar of my browser (Chrome) and nothing happens. The only thing that happens is, instead of say lifehacker.com being the loading page and the URL in the address bar, I am still on Macrumors and I have some sort of URL with tweetmeme.com as the domain. I couldn't replicate it for the entire URL (of course there's no problem when I need to replicate one) but could this be some sort of site error? I'd really like to get where I'm trying to go when I'm trying to go.

Does the problem replicate itself on other browsers?

I used to have this issue with Chrome, but I updated to the latest version and it went away.
