I just installed the 2.0 software for my iPhone, and while restoring the backup, an error message continues to show up saying, "An error occured while trying to restore this iPhone (-1426)"

It looks like the update to 2.0 worked, but now I cannot sync from the backup, and all my music is no longer on the phone.

Also, a second error then comes up saying, "The iphone cannot be synced, the required file cannot be found."

    Help!! Please!

You can restore your phone by forcing it into recovery mode.

Turn off your iPhone by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider. If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again. Once it's turned off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac or PC. Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes". Newer iPhones will show a dock cable pointing to the iTunes icon. You can now release the button.
Open iTunes (if it's not already open) and you will be told that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode". Click "OK" and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. Click restore and you're done. Depending on the extent of your iPhone's ills, it may take some time to do a full restore. Once you're done, however, you should again have a perfectly working iPhone.

Yeah, I had this too, but I just said F it, and started from scratch. Not that much of a pain to set up the prefs and email again really. but YMMV.

    -1426 Error

My iPhone has finally decided to update, after a week!!!
Have not done anything differently, I charged it this morning and it would not update, but this afternoon it has decided to update.
I did leave it in the sun for about an hour
