I had some issues with my 3G iPod Touch over the weekend, which ultimately resulted in my need to restore it and update it—which I did. Before I restored, iTunes created a backup, but when I try to restore from that backup (the only one available to me that possibly includes a few bits of data I'd like to recover), the process begins, but about halfway through I get the following message: "iTunes could not restore the iPod "iPod Touch" because an error occurred." No error number or code, just that exact message. I tried restarting my computer several times, and I do have the latest verson of iTunes installed. Not sure what else to try. Any ideas out there?
