Whenever I try to buy a Daily Show multipass iTunes gives me an error that says "The purchase information on this page is out of date, hit OK to refresh" and then I hit OK and nothing happens. I tried exiting out of iTunes and coming back in, but to no avail. Any clues on how to fix this?

Problem with buying Multi-Pass

I found the same problem yesterday. I can't believe that this has been going on for nearly 2 years. You probably resolved this. But for anyone else who experiences this problem, here is what caused it for me.

I buy multi-passes for both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report and have been having a problem auto-renewing my Multi-Passes for several months. This week I decided to contact Apple about it and was given some useless instructions on deleting my credit card and re-adding it and updating my personal information. After doing so, I tried to buy the Multi-Pass for The Colbert Report again (since once auto-renew fails it doesn't retry) and got the error "Alert: The purchase information on this page is out of date. Please click to refresh the page."

After some unsatisfying email contact and finagling an Apple support manager on the phone to actually help me with this (no mean trick to get them to support you on the phone for iTunes Store issues). I figured it out.

The problem was I was trying to buy the Multi-Pass before the latest episode of The Colbert Report had been made available. All of the episodes in the Store I had already downloaded in my previous Multi-Pass(es), so there was nothing to download. Hence the error. Once the episode was available I could buy the multi-pass.

*** Note *** This is probably the very same reason that I have been having problems auto-renewing my Multi-Passes: the renewal occurs after the last episode of my current Multi-Pass is made available and the auto-renew process finds no unpurchased videos and fails.

It's a silly bug. One they would have discovered and fixed in the past year and a half if they had phone support for people who were having problems with purchases.

Hope this helps someone.
