"The iPod "Kyle's iPod" cannot be synched. An unknown error occurred (-48)"

What is this error?!?!?!? I cant sync my iPod to my PC, and iTunes recommends to reset the iPod (format it) but I have a ton of music and movies on there I cant get again. I was looking to backup my iPod by copying the hidden folders, but the song names are all weird. Will they still be that way if I copy that to my computer, then put it back on the iPod after the format?

Your music should have its internal ID Tag info, even though the filename itself will be a random series of numbers and letters. if you take the hidden folder off your ipod and put it on your computer, and then import the songs into iTunes, it will automatically organize and rename them according to Artists, Album, song number and name (as long as you have 'Keep library organized' in the preferences).

But to sum it up, your music files will keep there proper ID tag information if you take them off the ipod, so you shouldn't have a problem with taking it off your ipod, then putting it back on.

Thanks for the great info. Then its settled, I let all 22GB of my iPod transfer to my PC and then I copy it back on. Good stuff!
