Carrier ESIM and text messaging issue

So I went ahead and had an ESIM activated on my iPhone XS MAX running 12.1 Beta. The activation went just fine and I can make calls and receive them just fine and I can get text messages but Im running into an issue. when I open up messages it asks that I put in a phone number because mms messaging requires it. So I hit the settings button and then try to put in my number but every time I try to enter it and hit 'Save' it wont actually save. I dont know what Im doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I found out what the issue was. I never took out the now deactivated SIM that I had in the phone after switching my number over to the eSIM and that what was causing the issue. Now everything is good
