im going to Japan next week i have a few questions about esims.

can I just buy 1 for a one off fee x amo of money for x amount oh GB’s
can anyone recommend a company
lastly can I have it set that I just carry on using my phone as normal with my original number just using the data on esim. So orgi number still works with iMessage, WhatsApp etc

When I changed the sim card, naturally, I was unable to use my own phone number, but everything else worked well, I could use FaceTime etc.

Being online with my phone in Japan, especially travelling around Tokyo was extremely useful. It would have been a lot more difficult without it. I can also recommend the the free Microsoft translator app.
